If I could only get the slice of crawler thin enough in the correct shape, I idea I could hook one. I sliced, adjusted, retried and changed. I was getting a few strikes but could not get the hook in their mouth. Finally, I learned how to go with the grain in the crawler and was in a position to slice of this hair sized piece after many mess ups. This went on the very end of the hook, and was hooked without the help of a magnifying glass or microscope, up close and personal. Then it came about, I set the hook with a dainty flick and landed my prize using a touchdown net I worked so hard to catch it, I wanted to make sure it didn’t come off and drop in the water .
